I create oil paintings inspired by the ocean, its movement, stillness, and light.

My work lives in homes, retreats, and collections around the world, chosen by those seeking art that evokes memory, calm, and connection.

Whether I'm swimming in the ocean or painting in my coastal studio, I return again and again to this quiet truth: water reflects more than just the world around us; it reveals something deeper.

A LIFE SHAPED BY WATER

I have always been drawn to water.

Throughout my life, I’ve moved across continents, islands, and climates—from South Africa to Zimbabwe, the USA, Saipan, Northern Alberta, Ontario, and now the Pacific West Coast of Canada. In every place, I’ve found myself pulled toward water. I have walked beside it, swum through it, and watched it shimmer under changing skies.

Water has always felt like a companion, a mirror, a guide.

I’ve lived near the Indian, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans. I’ve watched moonlight ripple across the Great Lakes, traced alpine rivers, and floated in the turquoise shallows of the Northern Mariana Islands. I’ve paddled, snorkled and surfed in these liquid landscapes, each one offering something different: mystery, stillness, energy, comfort, clarity.

Over time, I began to paint not just what I saw, but what I felt. The emotional imprint left by water subtly transforms perspectives and deepens insight.

Water became my language. My mirror. My anchor.

I paint its surfaces and its depths.
What is above, what is below.
What is remembered, what is felt.
What is reflected & what is real.

EDUCATION & SELF-TAUGHT EVOLUTION

I formally studied graphic design at Stellenbosch University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts. Those years deepened my understanding of composition, drawing, photography, and visual storytelling.

But oil painting and sculpture, the mediums that most define my voice today, I taught myself. Over the years, through curiosity and craftsmanship, they became central to my practice.

Today, they’re how I translate feeling into form, with patience, precision, and light.

A WORLD OF WORK

My paintings are collected internationally — from private homes to hotels, wellness retreats, and luxury spaces across Canada, the USA, Europe, the UK, Australia, South Africa and beyond.

Some are commissions. Others are selected directly from my studio or online. Every piece is personal, created with care and a deep respect for the emotional power of art.

STUDIO & COASTAL LIFE

I live in Halfmoon Bay on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, a place where ocean, light, and forest shape my days. My studio is minutes from the water’s edge, and many mornings begin with a swim or paddle before I pick up the brush.

Whether I’m in the studio or beside the shoreline, I observe the light and pay attention to its shifting nature. That’s what guides the work.
